Richard Copeland , B.Ed (With Distinction), J.D.



Richard received a Bachelor of Education degree, with distinction, from the University of Alberta in 2018. After a year teaching with Parkland School Division, he returned to the University of Alberta to receive his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Faculty of Law in 2022.


Richard completed law school coursework covering a diverse range of fields including employment law, human rights law, and legislative drafting. Richard will be building his knowledge of real estate and wills and estates, and he looks forward to applying his legal education in employment and human rights law to help individuals and businesses in the communities he grew up in.

Associations and Interests

Richard enjoys giving back to the community and has volunteered with a few local organizations, including Victim Services and summer childrens’ programs in Stony Plain and Parkland County. In his free time Richard enjoys weight training, snowboarding, film, theatre, and writing. He hopes to one day use his education experience to teach a class or seminar to high school students interested in law.
